Marcie Flinchum Atkins is a former classroom teacher and now gets to explore nature and poetry as a K–6 librarian outside of Washington, DC. In the wee hours before school, she writes fiction, nonfiction, and poetry for all ages. Wait, Rest, Pause (2019) and When Twilight Comes (2026) are her nonfiction picturebooks that explore nature.
